Opis

This unusual publication consists of a set of 31 animated films illustrating selected processes occurring in the auditory organ during the perception of an acoustic wave, together with a guide with concise commentaries for each animation. It is not a classic textbook on auditory perception, as it does not contain a complete, concise and systematised knowledge in this field. It has the character of a teaching material supporting and supplementing a lecture on psychoacoustics, which can be successfully used as an attractive tool to facilitate the study of acoustic engineering and related specialities.
The proposed animations do not depict all the phenomena occurring in the auditory organ; the author has selected those that are particularly difficult to depict in descriptive form or by means of traditional illustrations, due, for example, to the complex three-dimensional geometry of structures in the auditory organ.
The work is supplemented by a short English-Polish glossary of the most important specialist terms used.
Intended for students of acoustics, acoustic engineering and sound directing.
